Pricewaterhousecoopers To Detail College Recruiting Strategy And Tactical Success

ST. PAUL, MN - March 30, 2005

Chris Brassell, Director, PricewaterouseCoopers knows how to leverage on campus media to impact accounting and business majors. He will detail the successful campaigns of recent years by PwC in a presentation on April 13th at the Youth Marketing Mega-Event in Huntington Beach, California. Recruitment of skilled college students means harder work these days, as overall accounting majors have dropped up to 60% at some of PwC’s top recruiting schools. With PwC expecting to hire 3,200 full-time entry-level candidates and 2,200 interns in 2005, it has become more important to build a strong brand that differentiates the firm as an especially attractive employer.

“We knew exactly what we needed to accomplish, so we turned to the experts in campus marketing and media to help us build a media strategy,” according to Brassell. “What we got were not only the tools necessary to create, implement and manage campaigns, but personable and knowledgeable support staff at every stage.” Brassell’s presentation, in conjunction with CMG co-founder and President, Tom Borgerding, will explain how deep, ongoing media research about student habits influences on-campus strategies. The pair will also discuss how the campaigns evolved and the customized services PwC received, including: short lead time placements; streamlined billing; customized reporting, and premium ad placement negotiation.

Borgerding points out, “We take the success of each campaign very personally and do everything possible to ensure goals will be met in initial planning. Once implementation has begun, we start looking for improvements during the campaign, or for the next campaign.” Borgerding also notes the importance of providing constant feedback to PwC regarding which publications are best on each campus, what to expect from each, and what other options may exist. “In the event of any concern, not only does the client have access to my staff, but they know how to reach me directly anytime.”

For those media representatives attending the Youth Marketing Mega-Event, Campus Media Group will host a welcoming cocktail reception on April 11th, and Borgerding will talk about youth event promotion and execution.
